Disclaimer and risk warning
Market Vidyalaya is an educational publication. It is not advice, and it cannot know anything about your circumstances.
Capital is genuinely at risk
Equity investing and trading can lose money, including all of the money you commit. Derivatives and leverage can lose more than you commit. Historical returns, backtests and worked examples describe the past and do not predict the future. Most people who trade actively underperform a simple index fund, and a large share lose money outright — the risk-of-ruin lesson explains why size, rather than skill, usually decides that outcome.
Company names are examples, not suggestions
Where a listed company, index or instrument is named, it is to demonstrate how a calculation or a disclosure works. It is never a view on whether that security is worth owning. Numbers used in worked examples are illustrative and are frequently simplified to make the arithmetic legible.
Market data may be delayed or wrong
Live prices, fundamentals and screener results are retrieved from public Yahoo Finance endpoints. Data may be delayed, incomplete or incorrect, and availability is not guaranteed. Do not use it to place orders. Always verify against your broker’s terminal or the exchange before acting.
Tax and regulation change
Tax rates, exemption limits, scheme rules and SEBI regulations described on this site were accurate to the best of our understanding when written and change over time. Nothing here is tax advice. For anything with a material tax consequence — capital gains, NRI status, HUF structures, estate planning — consult a qualified professional who can see your full position.
Calculators are illustrations
Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browseron your device and returns an estimate based on the assumptions you enter. Real outcomes differ because of slippage, charges, taxes, rounding and the fact that returns are not smooth. Treat every output as a rough guide for understanding a relationship, not as a projection of what will happen.
No liability
You are solely responsible for your own financial decisions. Market Vidyalaya accepts no liability for any loss arising from the use of this site, its content or its tools. If you are unsure whether an action is appropriate for you, it almost certainly warrants a conversation with a registered adviser first.
