Privacy policy
The short version: Market Vidyalaya has no user accounts, no advertising and no cookies of any kind. There is one measurement tool, and it is a cookieless one that counts page views without identifying anyone — it is described in full below. Nothing you do here is recorded against you, because there is no “you” to record it against.
What is stored, and where
Your lesson progress, quiz scores, saved lessons and watchlist are stored in your own browser using localStoragelocally on your device. That data never leaves your device — it is not transmitted, backed up or readable by us.
The practical consequences are worth knowing: clearing your browser data erases it, it does not follow you to another device or browser, and private browsing will not retain it.The practical consequences are worth knowing: clearing this site's data on your device erases it, and it does not follow you to another phone. There is no recovery mechanism, because there is nowhere for a copy to exist.
If you switch on the optional daily study reminder in Settings, a small note of the reminder time, the last day you studied, your streak and the last lesson you opened is kept on your device so the app can decide whether to remind you. The reminder is created on your device; no push service or server of ours is involved, and nothing is sent anywhere.
Analytics, advertising and cookies
There is one measurement tool: Vercel Web Analytics, run by the company that hosts this site. Its script is served first-party: the file is fetched from this site’s own domain, not from an analytics company’s script host, so reading a lesson here does not cause your browserdevice to announce itself to a third-party server elsewhere.
It sets no cookies, and it does not follow you across sites or stitch separate visits together into a history. That is precisely why you have not been shown a consent banner: banners exist to obtain consent for tracking of that kind, and there is none here to consent to. It was chosen over the usual analytics products for that reason.
What it counts is page views. Each one carries the page path, the referrer that sent you, an approximate location no finer than the country, and a coarse description of your setup — device class and browser familydevice class and software version, the sort of thing every web server can already see in a request. What it does not carry is a name, an email address, an account, an advertising ID, or any identifier that could be used to pick you out or to build a profile of you across the web. To tell a returning reader apart from a page reload without a cookie, Vercel derives a short hash from the incoming request and rotates what goes into it, so it degrades into nothing rather than hardening into an identity.
Beyond that there is nothing: no advertising network, no pixel, no heatmap or session-replay tool, no A/B testing service, and nothing that watches what you type.
The reason any of this is measured is narrow — to see which lessons are actually read and which are never opened, so the ones that are not working can be rewritten. If you would rather not be counted, most tracker-blocking extensions recognise it, and every part of this site continues to work with it blocked.
Market data requests
The live market pages fetch prices and fundamentals from public Yahoo Finance endpoints through a server-side proxy on this site. The proxy exists to avoid browser restrictionscross-site restrictions, and it has a side effect worth stating plainly: Yahoo sees a request from our server rather than from you, so your IP address is not exposed to them.
We do not log which symbols you look up or associate requests with any visitor. Standard server request logs may exist at the hosting layer, as they do for any website, and are used only for operating the service.
Search
Site search runs against content held on our own server. Your query appears in the URL so the result is shareable, and it is not stored, profiled or used to build any picture of your interests.
Third parties
- Yahoo Finance — market data, requested by our server rather than by your browserdevice.
- Google Fonts — the typefaces are fetched at build time and served from this domain, so your browserdevice does not contact Google while you read.
- Hugging Face — only if you use the optional Studio voice in Settings. Hearing a sample plays a short recording from huggingface.co; a voice you download (about 61 MB, or 92 MB for the HD voice) is fetched from there once and kept on your device, and its speech engine comes from this site. Speech is generated on your device: the text of the lessons is never sent anywhere.
- Vercel — hosts and serves the site, may keep standard operational request logs, and provides the cookieless Web Analytics described above. Both roles belong to the same company, which is why the analytics script comes from this domain rather than from a separate tracking host.
There is no other third party. No social embeds, no comment system, no chat widget and no email capture.
Children
This is educational content about financial markets and is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, because we do not collect personal information at all.
Your control
Everything about your learning is local, so you already have complete control of it: clearing site data in your browserthis site's data on your device erases your progress, scores, saved lessons and watchlist outright. There is no account to close and no deletion request to make of us, and that is not a policy so much as an admission — we hold nothing of yours to delete. The page-view counts described above are the one thing that exists on a server, and they are totals with no identifier in them, so there is nothing in there that could be traced back to you and picked out. Blocking the analytics script keeps you out of those counts altogether.
