CTC to take-home salary

See why the CTC on your offer letter is not what reaches your bank account — the employer’s EPF and gratuity, your own EPF, professional tax and income tax each take a slice — and get a realistic monthly in-hand figure.

How to use this calculator

Each step names a control you will find on screen above.

  1. Annual CTC

The whole cost-to-company figure the offer quotes. It includes things paid on your behalf that never appear as salary.

  2. Basic as a share of CTC

Most deductions key off basic pay — EPF and gratuity are both a percentage of it. A typical basic is 40–50% of CTC; a higher basic means more forced saving into EPF and a smaller take-home.

  3. Read the in-hand

The tool carves out the employer’s EPF (12% of basic) and a gratuity provision (4.81% of basic) to reach your gross salary, then subtracts your own EPF (12% of basic), professional tax and a new-regime income-tax estimate.

Worked example: ₹15 lakh CTC

₹15,00,000 CTC with basic at 40% of CTC (₹6,00,000), new tax regime.
