How to use this calculator
Each step names a control you will find on screen above.
- Deposit
The amount you place in the SCSS account. The maximum across all your SCSS accounts is ₹30 lakh.
- Interest rate
The rate notified for the quarter you open the account. It is fixed for the five-year term of that deposit.
- Read the income
SCSS pays interest every quarter into your account rather than compounding it, and returns the full principal at the end of five years.
Worked example: ₹15 lakh at 8.2%
Depositing ₹15,00,000 in SCSS at 8.2%, interest paid quarterly for five years.
