Glossary

Every term is defined twice: once the way a filing would put it, and once the way somebody would explain it to you across a table. The second one is usually the one that sticks.

Right-of-use asset

Accounting

The balance sheet asset representing the right to use a leased item over the lease term.

In plain terms

The other side of the lease liability. It is depreciated over the term, which is where the old rent expense went.
