Every term is defined twice: once the way a filing would put it, and once the way somebody would explain it to you across a table. The second one is usually the one that sticks.

Valuing each business division separately at an appropriate multiple, then adding them.

In plain terms

Often shows the good division alone is worth more than the whole company. The gap needs a catalyst to close.
